MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We Will Lead Africa (WWLA) will mark our 10th anniversary with an in-person gathering on May 21–22, 2027 at the Windsor Gallery in Lagos, Nigeria.
Since launching our first volume on Africa Day (25 May) 2017, we have been uplifting stories of everyday African leaders driving progress on the African continent and celebrating the spirit of the Griot – the African storyteller, knowledge keeper, and future shaper.
A decade on, around Africa Day 2027, we will host a festive leadership conference that will:
- Bring together African everyday leaders from across the continent
- Centre joy, connection, and impact, and uplift the stories that nourish and activate them
- Celebrate 10 years of WWLA: 10 books, 200+ stories of true inspiration and impact, and the community of storytellers who have made this possible.

Travel & Financial Responsibility Notice
At this stage, we are unable to guarantee financial assistance for visa applications, travel, accommodation, meals, transport, and other related expenses. Participants should therefore make arrangements under the assumption that they are responsible for any and all travel-related expenses themselves.
There is no cost to attend the WWLA 10 event and programming, but all participants are expected to register for a free ticket.
We are working to pull together logistical information to support participants travelling from outside Lagos, including guidance on visa requirements, recommended accommodation, and local transportation.
We are also actively pursuing sponsorship opportunities that may enable us to provide additional support.
We will communicate any developments as soon as they are confirmed. However, this information should not at any point be interpreted as a commitment to provide financial assistance or as a guarantee of availability, quality, and safety.
We Will Lead Africa does not take on any liability for costs or losses incurred in relation to travel or attendance of WWLA 10. We recommend that participants arrange their own travel, medical, and emergency insurance for the duration of their trip.
